Overview
The 2020 Amended Protocol II Group of Experts will take place on 29 September (10AM-1PM & 3PM-6PM) and 30 September (3-6PM) 2020 in Room XIX at the Palais des Nations. Ambassador Maria Teresa T. Almojuela of the Philippines will chair the Group of Experts as President-designate of the Twenty-second Annual Conference of the High Contracting Parties to Amended Protocol II.
The final document of the Twenty-first Annual Conference of the High Contracting Parties to Amended Protocol II provides guidance and direction for the work of the Experts to be undertaken in 2020.
The main issues that will be addressed at the 2020 Group of Experts include:
- 1. Review of the operation and status of the Protocol, consideration of matters arising from reports by High Contracting Parties according to Article 13 (4) of Amended Protocol II;
- 2. Improvised explosive devices (IED), under the overall responsibility of the Coordinator, Colonel Pascal Levant of France, to be assisted by Ms. Diana Esperanza Castillo Castro of Colombia.
