Overview

The Meeting of the States Parties (Geneva, 27 - 28 November 2003) decided on mandates for the GGE to continue its work in 2004 on the following issues: Explosive Remnants of War, Mines Other Than Anti-Personnel Mines, and possible options to promote Compliance with the Convention and its annexed Protocols. The GGE had to report on its work to a Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention to be held in Geneva on 18 and 19 November 2004, in conjunction with the Sixth Annual Conference of the States Parties to Amended Protocol II. The work of the GGE was undertaken in three sessions in Geneva during 2004, as follows: 8 - 12 March 2004; 5 - 16 July 2004; and 8 - 16 November 2004.
