<p>The Preparatory Committee for the 2005 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) held its second session from 28 April to 9 May 2003 at the Palais des Nations, Geneva. The Chairman of the second session was Ambassador László Molnár of Hungary.</p>

<p>A total of <a href="http://daccess-ods.un.org/access.nsf/Get?OpenAgent&DS=NPT/CONF.2005…; target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">106 States parties</a> participated in the work of the second session of the Preparatory Committee.</p>

<p>The <a href="http://www.un.org/disarmament/wmd/nuclear/npt2005/prepcom2003/summary-r… meetings</a> of the session were also attended by representatives of the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (OPANAL), the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, the European Commission, the League of Arab States and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and by representatives of <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="http://daccess-ods.un.org/access.nsf/Get?OpenAgent&DS=NPT/CONF.2005…; target="_blank">37 non-governmental organizations (NGOs)</a>. One meeting of the session was devoted to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="http://www.reachingcriticalwill.org/legal/npt/NGOpres2003index.htm" target="_blank">11 presentations by NGOs.</a></p>
